This exhibit travels the world and is an interactive journey to Isla Nublar. Keep reading for an insiders look into what you can expect from this awesome exhibit!
Caution: Spoilers ahead.
Upon arriving at the exhibit, staff scanned our QR code tickets and we were ushered into a waiting area.
Luckily, we waited less than 5 minutes before we boarded the “ferry” to Isla Nublar.
You will first take a ferry ride to Isla Nublar. During this part of the exhibit, a short video briefs you on some of the dinosaurs you can expect to see during your visit.
Upon exiting the ferry, you will be greeted by a host at the gates of Jurassic World. With a huge brachiosaurus in the background, the kids were extremely excited to start exploring.
Although everyone might want to quickly get through the gate, take your time. The iconic Jeep sits right off of the exit of the ferry and makes for a really cute photo-op.
As you can see, just beyond the gates, is the brachiosaurus (my favorite). This mechanical dinosaur moves quite a bit (although slowly) and brings its head down too.
The viewing scopes located in this are virtual reality and really cool.
Throughout the exhibit there are various photo opportunities. At the kiosks, simply scan the photo card that was given to you at the entrance and the videos/photos that you take will be saved to the card. At the end of the exhibit, in the gift shop, you can view all of the photos and purchase them too.
This area also has a tree house that gives a great view of the area and makes for some adorable pictures.
After you get enough of this area, then you will move to see the stygimoloch being transported in a truck.
My kids love stygimolochs and were so excited to see it pop its head out of the back of the truck.
After you’ve seen enough of the stygimolochs, you’ll make your way into the Hammond Creation Lab.
Here, you can check out some dinosaur eggs and see the geneticists hard at work, extracting DNA from mosquitoes in amber. There is even a baby dinosaur that little ones can pet!
Just look at these cute, little parasaurolophus.
The screens are all interactive and provide information on all of the various dinosaur eggs that are incubating.
My son was most looking forward to seeing his favorite raptor, Blue. The area just outside Hammond’s Creation Lab is the holding area for the raptors.
The only problem is, Blue is missing from his cage…
Don’t worry too much though, as you make your way to the next area of the exhibit, everyone will get to see one of the dinosaur trainers handling Blue in a paddock.
When seeing Blue during this part of the exhibit, my son asked, “Why are there human legs instead of dinosaur legs?”. Keep this in mind if you have kids that are getting old enough to figure these things out!
Throughout the Jurassic World Exhibition, there are a few chances for the kids to get to pet one of the baby dinosaurs, such as this fan favorite – Bumpy from Camp Cretateous.
Bumpy was in the same area as the dinosaur dig. This area contains a large sand table that allows kids to use brushes to unearth dinosaur bones.
Next comes Gyrosphere Valley that makes for a really cute photo op. This area has a baby pterodactyl to take pictures with.
Next up is the indominous rex. Here, you will stand behind a fence while briefly seeing the Indominous Rex eating his newly acquired meal.
And, of course, they save the fan favorite for last. T-rex makes a grand appearance as your tour guides try to help you “escape” the area of broken fences.
A fair warning…while most of the kids loved this part, tears were shed by others. If your little one is scared of dinosaurs, this part could be a little traumatizing.
I can’t say enough good things about this experience. It far exceeded my expectations.
I felt like the whole exhibit was well done and very interactive for little ones.
The best advice I have for visiting this experience would be to take your time. Although you will need to arrive at a set time, you aren’t limited to how much time you spend at each part of the exhibit.
We arrived at the same time as a very large group of kids on a field trip. Because of this, we slowed down so that the group ended up passing us. This allowed our kids to be able to see everything up close and not have to fight the crowds.
Prices range from about $20 to $30 for kids and $30 to $40 for adults with the higher pricing including the FLEX benefits.
FLEX benefits allow you to enter the experience at any time on the date selected rather than needing to be to the event at your scheduled time.
Currently, the Jurassic World Exhibition is in Toronto (Canada), San Diego (United States), Koln (Germany) and Japan.
