New Orleans Rehearsal Dinner

New Orleans is know for its amazing food and top-notch service, which are just a couple of reasons it is such an amazing wedding location. With all of the amazing restaurant options, one might find it hard to narrow down where to hold a rehearsal dinner.

Chef Donald Link is a favorite of my sister and her (now) husband, so it made perfect sense for them to have their rehearsal dinner at one of his locations!

The rehearsal dinner was held at Calcasieu. This fantastic private dining venue has four unique spaces which are available to book for events such as this one.

The Décor

The brass candle holders and black taper candles were the perfect table accent to go with that New Orleans jazz theme and popped against the black tablecloths.

Many of the pieces that were used on the tables are family pieces that have been collected throughout the years. Similar pieces can be found here.

This event was held in the Tchoupitoulas room which can accommodate up to 65 guests. It’s perfect for a small group.

The exposed brick walls add such character to the room (and make a great backdrop for family photos too!).

The floral centerpieces were created by the Mother of the Bride (my Mom!). We used the same arrangements for the Bachelorette party dinner too!

The Favors

Each place setting had a gold charger topped with a menu and a voodoo doll favor.

The voodoo doll favors were a labor of love, with family members hand sewing each one. The eyes were buttons from the brides late grandmothers’ sewing supplies.

The Food

The food was as delicious as we all expected it to be. No one left hungry!

This was the starter of chicken and andouille sausage gumbo.

I chose the braised beef entrée which was fantastic. The short rib was fall apart tender and the mashed potatoes were so creamy.

The roasted chicken entree was cooked to perfection too!

The dessert was so delicious that we didn’t even get any pictures of it before it was devoured!
