You can never have enough dip recipes to choose from. This Mexican layered dip has been a family favorite since I was a child. It’s incredibly easy to make and is much healthier than many other options!

Also known as seven layer dip, it’s the perfect mix of salty, tangy and fresh!
I love to make this dip in individual dishes so each person gets their very own. It can also be made in a trifle dish or clear bowl – this makes it so everyone can see all of the delicious layers!
Refried Beans – one 16 oz. can
Guacamole – 8 oz. or 2 small avocados, mashed
Sour Cream – 16 oz.
Taco Seasoning – one packet
Shredded Cheddar Cheese – one cup
Romaine Lettuce – one cup, shredded
Tomato – two, diced
Black Olives – 1/2 cup, sliced
Green Onions – two, sliced (greens only)

If you don’t have guacamole (or don’t want to make it), mashed avocado works well too! Just mash either two small or one large avocado!
To store, keep covered in air tight container for up to 4 days. Although it will still taste great for a few days, it is best served right after making when the guacamole is still bright green!
For another great appetizer, try out my Mexican Shrimp Cocktail!
In a small bowl, combine sour cream with taco seasoning. Stir until smooth. Set aside.
Begin layering your ingredients by spreading the refried beans in the bottom of your dish or dishes.
Next, smooth guacamole out over the refried beans.
Top the guacamole with the sour cream mixture, making sure to completely cover the guacamole to help prevent it from browning.
Next, top your dip with shredded cheese & lettuce, diced tomatoes, and sliced black olives & green onions.
Serve with tortilla chips.
Enjoy!
