Who would have thought that in just five minutes you could have a sugar scrub made with items you probably already have in your house!
Use this easy recipe for a spa night at home or make extra and give as gifts at your next ladies night!
Making this sugar scrub at home will allow you to avoid all the added chemicals that are found in store bought sugar scrubs. With just a few ingredients, it’s easy to use high quality products that are great for your skin!
I used organic coconut oil that I already had in my kitchen pantry. Fractionated coconut oil is liquid at room temperature, making it easier to use in a recipe like this.
Cane sugar has a more coarse texture than regular granulated sugar which makes it the best to use for this scrub for exfoliating purposes.
Make sure that you are using 100% pure essential oils. Some essential oils contain fillers and artificial ingredients.
I found these plastic containers at Michael’s. Glass jars could also work for this (for example Ball jars) but keep in mind that the metal tops may rust.
1 cup organic cane sugar
1/2 cup fractionated coconut oil
25-30 drops of essential oil (such as peppermint, vanilla, lavender, lemon or eucalyptus)
Storage containers
In a small mixing bowl, combine sugar and coconut oil. Mixture should have the consistency of wet sand.
Drop 25-30 drops of essential oil into mixture. Stir to combine.
Store mixture in air tight container.
It really is that easy! Just a few ingredients and less than five minutes of work and you have a homemade, organic sugar scrub to exfoliate and keep your skin feeling soft!
