Pretzel Rods – 3 or 4
Mini Marshmallows – 4 cups plus 8 additional marshmallows
White Melting Chocolate – 10 oz.
Rice Krispy Cereal – 6 cups
Butter – 3 tbsp.
Vegetable Oil Cooking Spray
Each recipe will make 6 – 8 turkey legs.
If your chocolate begins to seize, use a tiny bit of refined coconut oil (solid at room temperature) to smooth it out. Do not use any other oil as they will keep your chocolate from solidifying.
Begin by breaking your pretzel rods in half.
Melt white chocolate according to packaging.
Dip unbroken side of pretzel rod in the white chocolate. Attach two mini marshmallows to the white chocolate and then gently set down to harden. Repeat for all of the pretzel rods.
Once chocolate has harden (keeping the mini marshmallows in place), cover the marshmallows and 3/4 of the pretzel rod in white chocolate. Set aside to cool.
While chocolate covered pretzels are cooling, begin making your rice krispy treats.
In a large, nonstick saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons of butter. Add 1 package of mini marshmallows (less the few that you used on the pretzel rods) into the butter and stir continuously until melted.
Remove from heat and stir in Rice Krispies cereal.
Allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes.
Lightly spray your hands with vegetable oil cooking spray to prevent the Rice Krispies treats from sticking to your hands.
Create a ball of Rice Krispies treat and poke a hole in the middle. Stick the broken end of your chocolate covered pretzel rod into the hole and form the Rice Krispies Treat into the form of the turkey leg.
Continue until all are complete.
