Playing with playdough is a great motor activity for kids and helps them build hand strength.

Be certain to store in an air tight container and you will be able to get many uses out of this!

I found these fall cookie cutters at my local craft store but you could use any kid-safe kitchen tools or playdough tools that you may already have.

What You Will Need

1 cup flour

1 cup water

1/4 cup salt

1 tbsp. vegetable oil

1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice

2 tsp. cream of tartar

6 drops red food coloring & 10 drops of yellow food coloring

How To Make

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan and stir until no longer lumpy. Warm over medium heat until the play dough just begins to form a ball (about 5 minutes).

The dough will come together quickly, making it hard to stir.

Do not overcook – the playdough will begin to dry out.

Once a ball has begun to form, remove from pan and place on a lightly floured countertop. Kneed dough for about a minute or until the dough is no longer sticky.

This playdough will provide hours of fun and would also make a great treat to give classmates at a Halloween party. Each batch will make enough for about four goodie bags!

I hope you enjoyed this fun, fall activity!
