There are so many different toppings to choose from. Chopped peanuts, mini M&M’s, sprinkles, chopped Heath bars, chocolate drizzle and my favorite – a sprinkle of sea salt!

What You Will Need

5 small/medium apples

5 apple twigs, lollipop sticks or popsicle sticks

1 bag of caramels (11 ounces)

2 tbsp. heavy cream

Toppings such as chopped peanuts, toffee, mini m&ms, sprinkles, sea salt, chocolate drizzle, etc.

Parchment paper

Nonstick cooking spray

How To Make

Begin by thoroughly washing and drying your apples.

Insert apple tree twigs, lollipop sticks or popsicle sticks through the top of the apple until they are pushed about 3/4 of the way through the apple. Set aside.

Set a piece of parchment paper on your countertop and lightly spray with a nonstick cooking spray.

Unwrap your caramels and place in a microwave safe bowl. Add 2 tbsp. of heavy cream to bowl and microwave for 3 minutes, stirring at the end of every minute.

Once all of the caramels are completely melted, allow to thicken back up just a little bit. Dipping your apples in caramel that is too thin will cause it to run off once you place on the parchment paper.

Dip each apple in the caramel to coat the sides. Once you remove from the caramel, tip the apple upside down to allow the caramel to run down the sides before turning it right side up again.

Immediately roll each apple in the desired topping and then place on the parchment paper.

Allow the apples to cool for one hour in the refrigerator before serving.

Enjoy!
