Dinosaurs have been a staple in our household since our son was just a baby. So when I asked Luca what he would like to do for his 3rd birthday party, I already knew the answer. Everything. Dinosaur.

Luckily, Jurassic Park and dinosaurs (in general) are both really popular party themes, making it really easy to put together a dinosaur birthday party!
As with all of the birthday parties I put together, I always try to use things that we already have before buying new things.
Many of the large dinosaurs that I used throughout the party were toys that we already had and worked perfectly as decorations.
For the table centerpieces, I used a giant brachiosaurus and faux fern stems. The placemats were faux leather and I used green and palm leaf paper plates.
I used a balloon garland kit and made multiple, smaller garlands to decorate various windows and doorways throughout the house. I attached some faux fern stems throughout the balloons to give it more of a forest look.
For an easy dessert, I used red frosting to turn this store bought chocolate bundt cake into a volcano cake!
The dinosaur gift bags contained fossil egg activity, candy, temporary tattoos, coloring pack and a snack.
I love how cute these turned out!

All the guests were able to “adopt a dino” and choose a small dinosaur toy to go in their gift bag.
Each child was very specific on which dino would be going home with them!
A fossil dig is really easy to create and all of the kids loved it! I used a white serving tray, a couple of paint brushes, fossil toys and sand.
As you can imagine, sand ends up everywhere! Make sure to set this up in an area that can be easily cleaned.
