Christmas School Treats for Classmates

Each new holiday season I am always looking for new ideas of little gifts that the kids can give their classmates (or daycare friends). Our oldest loves giving gifts to his family and friends! In this post, I’ve rounded up a few ideas for Christmas school treats for classmates and friends.

Since there are so many allergies and food sensitivities these days, it isn’t as easy as it used to be where you could send some cupcakes and cookies to school. You’ll notice most of these ideas are not food related.

Pinecone Christmas Tree Ornaments

In each of these treat bags I included a few pinecones, green paint, a paintbrush, glitter and various puffballs. This fun at-home DIY also make a cute Christmas tree keepsake!

On the back of the gift tag were instructions to paint the pinecones green and sprinkle with glitter. Once dried, glue the puffballs on as ornaments. Tie or glue a string to the top and hang on your Christmas tree!

Hot Chocolate Kit

For these, I added a packet of hot chocolate, a peppermint stirring stick, mini marshmallows and Hershey kisses.

Kids can snack on the Hershey kisses while they wait for their milk to warm up for their hot chocolate.

Who doesn’t love a cup of warm hot chocolate after being outside in the cold?

Build a Snowman

This magical powder just requires little water for it to puff up into ‘snow’. I included these mini shovels and all the parts for each child to build their very own snowman – a scarf, top hat, nose, branch arms and buttons.

If kept in an airtight container, this snow powder can be used multiple times!

If you can’t find the snow powder, you could also you white Play-Doh to create the snowmen.

I found the little snowman parts on Amazon but I made the felt scarves myself using black crafting felt!

These were a favorite this year, now that we are living in a warmer climate and our kids couldn’t play in the actual snow like they used to in New York!

Playdough Kits

There are so many options for these! I used green Play-Doh with Christmas tree cookie cutter and various jewels, puff balls and pearl beads. I also used blue Play-Doh with a snowflake cookie cutter and various jewels and beads.

You could also do gingerbread men, candy canes, bells or whatever other cookie cutters you can find at Christmas time!

Reindeer Food

Since this is one of our Christmas Eve traditions, it only makes sense to pass the tradition on to other families who may also enjoy it themselves!

We mixed up oatmeal with different sprinkles and included instructions to sprinkle out on the lawn on Christmas Eve for Santa’s reindeer to have a little treat!

Check out my post How to Make Christmas Reindeer Food!

Create a Nutcracker Ornament

For these I included a mini nutcracker, various paints, a paintbrush and ribbon, feathers and gems to decorate each one.

Once complete, it can be used as a decoration around the house or a string can be attached to make it a Christmas ornament!

I hope you liked these ideas for Christmas school treats for classmates!
