Cabo San Lucas Beach Shore Excursion

This spring we set sail on the Disney Wonder for one of their Baja Mexico cruises. While planning our trip, I kept on going back and forth on what would be the best Cabo San Lucas shore excursion for us.

Since we were so busy with all of the activities on the ship, Cabo was the perfect place to have a relaxing day at the beach.

The night before our day in Cabo, we received a print out of instructions in our cabin. We made sure to follow them exactly to avoid any delay in getting to shore.

As we were approaching Cabo, we made sure to be out on the deck ahead of time. We had a perfect view of the shoreline – including El Arco (the Arch of Cabo) and Playa del Amor (Lover’s Beach).

We even saw some whales breaching!

As the ship was anchoring, we made our way to the Walt Disney Theater on Deck 4. Beginning promptly at 9am, staff began allowing guests into the theater. Everyone receives a sticker with a number on it. When the tender boats are ready for boarding, guests are called to the boats based on the number that they were given.

Since we were already on deck to check out the views, we were able to be at the front of the line for this process. Beginning at about 8:30am, there was already a long line to get into the theater to catch a tender.

Getting There

Due to the size of the port, most cruise ships anchor just of the coast and use tender boats to get guests to shore.

The boat ride to shore takes just a few minutes and brings you directly to the Cabo San Lucas Marina.

Though we didn’t do any shopping, there are plenty of souvenir shops, pharmacies, convenience stores and restaurants here.

Upon arriving at the marina, we decided to walk to the Beach Club. Though Corazon is close by, the walk takes approximately 25 minutes as it requires you to walk the entire perimeter of the marina.

Corazon Cabo Resort & Spa

Corazon Cabo Resort & Spa is located of Medano Beach, right in the heart of Cabo San Lucas.

There is a restaurant and full service bar located right on the beach as well as beach chairs and day beds available to reserve.

Upon arriving at the beach club, we checked in with one of the staff members and we were immediately brought to our day bed.

Our attendant introduced himself, provided us with menus and set towels out for us.

We promptly ordered ourselves a few margaritas and had them – in hand – within minutes.

The kids couldn’t wait to start playing in the sand.

I brought with us a travel set of beach toys. The bucket folds, it’s lightweight and it made it really easy to fit into a suitcases to bring with us on the trip.

The best part is the umbrella which is must if you plan on spending all day at the beach, especially with kids.

We went back and forth between playing in the shade by the day bed and going down to the water to swim.

As the day went on, the beach became quite crowded (as you can imagine).

Many of the day-beds were being used by families as it gives parents the best of both worlds. A place for kids to play in the sand and water while also feeling like an adult at a beach club.

There was also a resident dj playing music at the beach club which added to that vacation ambiance.

Food

We ordered quite a few different dishes off of the menu while we were there. This included the aguachile, nachos, taco platter, churros and more.

Click here for their food menu and here for their drink menu.

Though I wouldn’t call all of the food authentic, it was all really good.

The service was also awesome. We never had to wait for a drink and he was always coming back to check on us.

The kids ordered a burger and fries off of the kids menu and loved every bite.

But the biggest hit was the fruit smoothies on the menu that the kids LOVED.

After spending our day relaxing, eating and enjoying a few cocktails, we were tired. We saved ourselves a walk and decided to take an Uber back to the tender pier. It cost us just $8 and was well worth it considering we were all exhausted!

We made our way back to the ship to catch one of the tenders.

For our cruise, the last tender boat back to the ship was at 5pm.

Reservations & Location

Reservations can be made directly on their website by clicking here.

Because I had a bunch of questions, I contacted them directly through their email address. I made the reservation months in advance. I would highly recommend doing so, as all of the day beds filled up quickly.

Keep in mind – typically, guests that booked a shore excursion directly with the cruise line get priority access to the tender boats. This means that guests that are exploring the destination ‘on their own’ may need to wait before boarding a tender. This may affect the time of your reservation.
