AutoCamp Joshua Tree

AutoCamp had been on my radar for quite some time – likely due to their excellent social media marketing. This summer we had some free time to explore a few of the national parks in California and decided to make our way back to Joshua Tree.

Although there are MANY awesome options of places to stay in the Joshua Tree National Park & Palm Springs area, AutoCamp was an easy choice as my kids have an obsession with Airstreams and RV’s.

AutoCamp seeks to marry midcentury design with all the modern amenities that will make your glamping experience unforgettable – custom airstreams, delicious food, personal experiences – all while being surrounded by some of the most beautiful national parks in America.

Although they are always expanding, their current locations are in North Carolina, Massachusetts, New York, Texas, Utah, and throughout California.

Arrival

This gated little paradise is located in the middle of the desert, just minutes from the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park.

Upon arrival at the location, and after passing through the main gates, you enter the main building to complete the check-in process.

Not only does this building serve as the main office, it is also where you will find the general store, a small lounge, and the kitchen (more on these later).

We were greeted by the staff at the front desk that assisted us with checking-in. The process took just a few minutes and we were on our way to check-out our accommodations.

The parking lot is located just outside of the main building and is where all cars must remain while on-site.

Because you aren’t able to park outside of your accommodations, AutoCamp provides carts to help get your luggage to your cabin.

After a couple of short trips to and from our car, we were all set and ready to get our vacation started!

For our stay, we were assigned Airstream 106 which was just a short walk from the parking lot.

This Airstream is considered a Premium Airstream Suite but there are a number of different accommodations options for you to choose from when booking your stay.

Check out my post Our Premium Airstream Suite Experience at AutoCamp Joshua Tree for more information about our stay!

The Pool

Because we visited during the summer, we spent nearly all of our time at the pool. It’s located just behind the clubhouse and is the perfect spot to keep cool in the desert heat!

As you can imagine, the pool would get quite busy in the hot afternoon heat but we never had a problem finding a chair.

Towels are provided and are replenished throughout the day.

The General Store

Located in the main building, this store is extremely convenient to grab some last minute items or even get your dinner for the evening!

We found ourselves stopping in the store a few times – to grab some souvenirs, ice cream, or little snacks throughout the day.

There is a wide selection of items offered. Below is a list of items sold at the store. They even have ready made dinners that are completely ready to be put on the grill!

We did all of our grocery shopping prior to arriving so we never had the chance to try out their dinners but they sounded delicious with options like steak, chicken, salmon, or ribs with sides such as baked beans, mac & cheese, cornbread, asparagus, and more!

Don’t want to cook anything? The Kitchen also has food to order, making your stay even more relaxing.

As I mentioned, we did our own cooking (cooking over the campfire is half the fun!) but despite that, we took advantage of the happy hour each day which included 50% off tap beer, house made cocktails, and select wines.

The Property

Even though the Airstreams are spaced nicely, the property is still fairly small, making it easily walkable.

Bicycles are available for use around the property and can be signed out in the main office. Keep in mind, they do not have bicycles for children or bicycle trailers for riding around with your children.

Stay hydrated! There is a water fountain/water bottle filling station located at the main building.

The fire pit located in the middle of the compound and is a great place to gather in the evenings .

This gathering area in the middle of the property has a few other amenities as well.

Here, you will find various lawn games including corn hole and a swing set/play area for kids.

On select evenings, live music is offered on the patio. This was the perfect time for us to grab a drink from the happy hour offerings and sit and relax – major Coachella vibes – without the crowds!

Events

If you are looking for a picturesque, intimate desert location for a wedding or other event, this could be your spot.

Located just behind the pool area is a bar area, covered patio, firepit seating area, and outdoor patio.

Just imagine all of your friends and family staying right on location in fun Airstream cabins for a weekend of activities and events!

I’m looking forward to checking-out more AutoCamp locations throughout the United States.

I hope this post was helpful if you are considering a trip to one of the AutoCamp Joshua Tree. Comment below and let me know if you have visited one of their other locations!
