This party is a combination of ideas from all of the movies. From the soldiers in the first movie to Forky from the latest film, the party ideas are plentiful.

DECOR

As with most of my parties, I used a balloon garland as a statement piece for the decorations complete with a mylar Buzz Lightyear.

The Barrel of Monkeys garland was made by cutting out cardboard monkeys from a stencil and then I spray painted them red.

These took longer than I anticipated and ended up turning into a family project with a few hand injuries. But at least they looked cute!

These parachuting soldiers were another family crafting project. The parachutes were made out of cheesecloth and glue that was laid over a large balloon to dry. Once completely dried, I spray painted the parachute and army men using a hunter green color. They were hung around the house with fishing line.

PLACE SETTINGS

For the tables, I collected all of the Toy Story toys that we had around the house and borrowed some from my niece and nephews. These toys were used as the centerpieces of the table.

I cut white paper placemats into cloud shapes and then used a green dinner sized paper plate and a Toy Story dessert plate at each setting. Each of the kids also had a reusable water bottle that they could bring home with them.

There were lollipops and twizzlers in vases and “There’s a Snake In My Boot!” gummy snakes on the table too!

For the adults table, I used a white dinner plate and these Toy Story accent plates that I found at Home Goods.

Dessert

Normally we go with a fancy tiered cake for birthday parties but our options were very limited this year due to Covid.

Luckily, my sister is great at making fun cupcakes and was able to make these galaxy and alien cupcakes for the party.

Gift Boxes

I recreated the “Andy’s Toys” moving boxes from the movie for the gift boxes for all of Lucas’ friends.

The gift boxes contained paper airplanes, a puzzle, fruit snacks, a mini etch-a-sketch and a squirt gun.

Activities

The kids had a great time making Forky. For this craft you will need: popsicle sticks, small rainbow stickers, molding clay, sporks, red pipe cleaners, sticky eyes, and blue and red puffy paint.

We also had an alien piñata filled with all of Luca’s favorite candy!

I love these classic party themes! Let me know what you think about these Toy Story birthday party ideas!
