A Fall Favorite – Apple Cider Margaritas

Every fall I make sure to drink as much apple cider as I possibly can. Our local orchard makes THE BEST apple cider – just pressed apples, nothing else.

What better way to drink even more apple cider than to add it to margaritas too!

Made with all of the same ingredients as a classic margarita, just add apple cider and a cinnamon sugar rim for the perfect fall twist on this classic!

Milagro Silver is my tequila of choice for margaritas but any medium to high quality tequila will do.

When choosing a margarita mix, try to choose one with just a few ingredients. Some of the cheaper margarita mixes available can have a very artificial lime flavor and are filled with sweeteners.

For the best sour mix though, try out my recipe for Homemade Sour Mix!

What You Will Need

2 tbsp. sugar

1 tsp. cinnamon or apple pie spice

1.5 ounces triple sec

3 ounces tequila

1.5 ounces sour mix

1.5 ounces apple cider

Apple slices or lime wedges for garnish

How to Make Apple Cider Margaritas

On a small plate, combine sugar and cinnamon (or apple pie spice).

Using a wedge of lime, moisten the rim of your glasses. Coat the rim of each glass in your sugar & cinnamon mixture. Set glasses aside.

In a cocktail shaker with ice, combine tequila, triple sec, sour mix and apple cider. Shake for 20 – 30 seconds.

Fill your rimmed glasses with ice. Strain your cocktail into your glasses.

Serve with a slice of apple or a wedge of lime.

Enjoy!
